We host a very limited number of bespoke weddings each year at The Owl, Hawnby, welcoming couples who value exceptional food, thoughtful hosting, and the quiet luxury of celebrating well.
Set on the edge of the North York Moors, The Owl is best suited to intimate weddings of up to 50 guests, where the focus is on shared tables, seasonal cooking, and time spent with the people who matter most.
The Owl is a small, food-led pub with rooms, and we choose to host only ten to twelve weddings per year. This is a conscious decision — not to create exclusivity for its own sake, but to ensure that every wedding receives our full attention, from the kitchen to the front of house.
By keeping our calendar intentionally light, we are able to offer a level of care, calm, and personal hosting that simply isn’t possible in high-volume wedding venues.
We are not a late-night party venue, and we do not try to be.
Instead, we offer warmth, character, and a sense of occasion that unfolds naturally over the course of the day and evening, shaped by our remote and beautiful North York Moors setting.

Our wedding menus are seasonal and ingredient-led, shaped by close relationships with our growers, farmers, and suppliers. A wedding here is, above all, a shared table — unforced, generous, and memorable for the right reasons.

We do not offer fixed wedding packages.
Each celebration is planned individually, with pricing that reflects the level of hospitality, cooking, and accommodation involved. Most weddings involve exclusive use of the pub and rooms, allowing couples and their guests to settle in fully and enjoy the space as their own.
